Air Gist puts the Airtable numbers you keep checking on your iPhone Home Screen, and updates them through the day. Air Gist is an independent app from Knock Knock Bang. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Airtable. Airtable is a trademark of Formagrid, Inc., used here only to describe compatibility. Choose a base, a table and a view, pick a widget type and a size, and the number sits on your Home Screen from then on. NINE WIDGET TYPES Every type works in all three Home Screen sizes. Number Summary — a count, sum, average, or any of eleven summary functions, with an optional sparkline, trend and currency formatting, and colors that change when the value crosses a threshold you set. Progress Ring — how far along a goal is, drawn as a ring or a gauge. Compact List — the first few records from a view, in the order you choose. Countdown — the time until a date in your base, or since one, switching to smaller units as the date gets close. Multi-Number Dashboard — several grouped numbers in a single widget. Chart — a bar or line chart, bucketed by date. Status — one record's checkbox or single-select state, or how many records in a set are done. Comparison — two values side by side with the difference between them: this period against the last, one view against another, or either against a target you set. Calendar Heatmap — a calendar grid of how busy each day was, over three months, six, or a year. HOW IT WORKS Connect your own Airtable account with a personal access token or by signing in. Choose the base, table, and view a widget should read from, then pick the fields it shows. The preview shows your real data as you build. Widgets refresh on their own through the day, as often as iOS allows. If you lose signal, a widget keeps its last reading on screen for up to a week, and if a connection stops working, the widget says what went wrong. Tap a widget to open it in Air Gist, or set the tap to open a link or run a Shortcut. Each widget has its own accent color and icon, so you can tell them apart on a busy Home Screen. DASHBOARDS Inside the app, gather widgets onto a dashboard, mixing types and bases, with headings, notes and buttons between them. Pull down to refresh the whole board at once. A button can open a widget or a link, open Airtable, or run a Shortcut. AIR GIST ONLY EVER READS Air Gist never writes to your bases. The token it asks for needs read access and nothing more, and it is stored in the iOS keychain on your device. You don't create an account with us, and your data never passes through our servers. The app talks to Airtable directly, using credentials you issue yourself and can revoke at any time. Air Gist carries no analytics, advertising or tracking. FREE AND PRO Five of the nine types are free, and you can build as many widgets as you like from them: Number Summary, Progress Ring, Compact List, Countdown, and Status, each in all three sizes, with one Airtable connection that reaches every base it has access to. Pro adds the four that take more setting up — Multi-Number Dashboard, Chart, Comparison, and Calendar Heatmap — and lets you add as many Airtable connections as you need, for another account or a token with different access.
