Learn a language while you watch Netflix and YouTube. Every line has a translation underneath, and any word or joke you don't get is one click away. 7-day free trial. Get the line. And the subtext. The hard part of learning from TV isn't the vocabulary. It's the slang, the jokes and what people really mean. Subtext puts a natural translation under every line on Netflix and YouTube and explains the rest with a click. NATURAL TRANSLATIONS Every line gets a translation in your language that reads naturally, jokes and slang included. GET THE JOKES Slang, idioms, wordplay and cultural references are marked. Click one to see what it actually means. NOT A DICTIONARY Words worth learning at your level are underlined. Click one to see what it means in that line, how to say it and how it's used. TAKE ANY LINE APART Literal and natural translations, the structure and the grammar, side by side. KEEP WHAT YOU LEARN Save a word and it becomes a flashcard, reviewed at the right moment and linked to the scene where you met it. Export to Anki or CSV anytime. YOUR LANGUAGES Choose the language you read and the one you want to learn. Translations and menus speak yours, in 16 interface languages. You can learn English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian and Hindi. Your vocabulary and progress stay on your Mac. REQUIREMENTS Subtext works with Netflix and YouTube in Safari or Chrome on a Mac (Chrome also needs the Subtext app). Netflix requires your own Netflix subscription. The show or video needs subtitles in the language you are learning. Subtext is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix or YouTube. SUBSCRIPTION Translation, word notes and sentence breakdowns require a Subtext subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
