Draw a fish on paper, photograph it, and watch it swim. Four worlds to fill. Nothing your child draws ever leaves the phone. A child draws something on paper. You take a photo of it. It lifts off the page and starts swimming. Doodlings turns any drawing into a creature that lives in a world of its own. Draw a fish and it swims. Draw a bird and it flits between the leaves. Draw a dinosaur and it walks across the valley, and it moves the way the thing they drew ought to move. Four worlds The Reef, warm shallow water, and free forever. The Jungle, hot and green, where things flit between the leaves. Deep Space, no floor and no gravity, where everything drifts and turns. The Valley, a long time ago, where big things walk across the ground. How it works Draw on any paper, with anything. Photograph it. Doodlings finds the drawing, lifts it off the page and puts it in the world you picked. It keeps the colours your child chose and the wobble in their line, because that is the bit worth keeping. It works on ordinary paper, in ordinary light, on the kitchen table. Lined paper is fine: the ruling is removed on its own. Every drawing stays The worlds fill up. Nothing has to be finished in one go and nothing expires, so a reef drawn over a winter is still there in the spring. Nothing leaves your phone Doodlings has no account, no sign-up and no server. It makes no network requests at all, so a photograph of your child's drawing never goes anywhere. There is no advertising and no tracking of any kind. It never asks for your photo library either. Choosing a drawing you photographed earlier goes through Apple's own picker, which hands back only the image you tap. Doodlings Plus The Reef is free and always will be, along with your first three drawings. Doodlings Plus opens the Jungle, Deep Space and the Valley, and takes the limit off how many drawings can come to life. GBP 4.99 a month or GBP 29.99 a year. It renews until cancelled and can be cancelled any time in Settings.
