You screenshot a bank transfer. You photograph your passport or ID card for a form. You save a recovery phrase "just for a minute." Years later they are all still in your camera roll, and you have no idea which ones.
Scour reads every photo on your iPhone and shows you the ones holding a card number, an IBAN, a passport or ID card, or a crypto recovery phrase.
WHAT IT FINDS
- Credit and debit card numbers
- IBANs and bank details
- Passports and ID cards (the machine-readable lines at the bottom of a passport's photo page or on an ID card)
- Crypto recovery phrases (BIP-39)
WHAT IT DOES NOT
Scour does not read passwords or driver's licenses. An ID card is found by its machine-readable lines, not by the number printed on it, so a card without those lines is not found. It looks for these four things and nothing else.
IT CHECKS BEFORE IT ACCUSES
A photo is only flagged when the number actually validates. Card numbers are checked with the Luhn algorithm, IBANs with mod-97, passports and ID cards with their own check digits, recovery phrases against the BIP-39 word list. A date or an order number will not be reported as a card.
REVIEW ONE BY ONE, OR CLEAR THEM ALL
See each photo with the sensitive part highlighted, then keep it or delete it, or delete everything it found in one step. iOS asks before anything is removed, and deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

That is the answer you were hoping for: your library is clean.

Scour now finds ID cards too, by their machine-readable lines. It reads your library once more after this update, so the ones already in your photos are found.
