Better prayer times in the far north • In places where the sky never gets fully dark in summer, such as the UK, northern Europe and Canada, Fajr and Isha used to show at the same moment around midnight. Kiblat now uses the widely accepted angle-based rule for high latitudes, so both times are sensible all year. • Prayer reminders use the corrected times too. • Times everywhere else are unchanged.

Prayer reminders • Get a notification the moment each prayer time begins. • Get a warning before a prayer time runs out, with your choice of 5 to 30 minutes' notice. • Reminders follow the city you have selected and its time zone, and are available in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Japanese. Qibla compass • Kiblat now warns you when magnets or nearby metal are disturbing the compass, so you know when not to trust the arrow. • iOS can now offer its compass calibration screen from inside Kiblat.
