Roamlight is the app for a Roamlight photo library — a photo library your family runs on its own machine. There is no Roamlight service and no account with us. The app talks to one address: the one you give it. Where that machine stands, and who may see which album, is your decision. WHAT IT DOES • Your albums, by year and by place. Tap one and it opens with the journey drawn on a map — the car to the airport, the plane, the road along the coast — and then the photographs. • A photograph large: pinch to zoom, drag to move, swipe for the next. Where and when it was taken, and the original to keep. • Video plays, with the same controls as anything else on the phone. • Search by place, year, camera or who is on the picture. • Make a new album and put photographs in it, or add a few of yours to an album somebody else made. • Share one album with somebody who has no account: a link, a password, an end date. • A quiet word when photographs arrive in an album you can see. A hundred new photographs are one line, not a hundred. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No analytics. No crash reporting. No advertising identifier. No third-party framework of any kind. Even the map is drawn through your own site, so nobody outside learns which part of the world your albums are in. YOU NEED A ROAMLIGHT LIBRARY This app is not useful on its own — it is the phone half of software you run yourself. It is free, open, and the whole of it can be read: github.com/Racoon80/roamlight It runs on a small machine at home: a Raspberry Pi, an old laptop, a box in a cupboard. Installing it is one command.

Sign in with single sign-on, if your site offers it. Albums now look the way they do on the website - a numbered list, and each album as a collage of prints - and play as a slideshow with a gentle crossfade. Edit an album: its name, place, journey and who sees it. Delete photographs and albums you uploaded. Videos from phones now play in the right shape.
