• A new walkthrough on first launch: it shows the app in action instead of handing out tips. • Walking guidance: a turn banner, arrival time, buttons to open your navigator, and a note when you arrive. • Routes from afar: you see the walking line to the start, then choose to listen from here or start on site. The route takes over when you arrive. • Routes now run from 1 to the end: from the gate you entered, then from where you stand, without doubling back. The Colosseum finally works the way the Colosseum does. Under all that stone there is no GPS and a map cannot help, so its twenty-seven stops are now a list arranged by where you are standing: outside before the entrance, the first tier after security, the rail above the arena. Touch a line and the story begins without leaving the list. Also in this version: • Three places, one guide — the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine. Switching between them takes you nowhere: the tab simply shows the place you picked. • A short walkthrough on first launch, run on the app itself rather than on pictures of it. • A rebuilt player: scrub the bar, change the speaking speed, step to neighbouring stories, or open the text and photograph of the one you are hearing. • Lists scroll faster and screens open quicker.

We went through how the guide is actually used on real trips — from the purchase to the last narration on site. The conclusion was simple: the guide has to work where there is no network at all. Now it does, all the way. If some narrations are not on your phone yet, the app shows exactly what is missing and fetches the rest by itself as soon as you are back online. What you bought stays yours offline: everything already downloaded simply works. While downloading, a clear hint: keep the app open and the package arrives faster. And if you close the app before it finishes, a reminder makes sure you do not set off with an incomplete guide.
