PicFiler is a macOS-exclusive app that lets you quickly browse and organize images using your existing Finder folder structure.
There is no need to import images into a photo library or copy them to app-specific storage. Simply select one of your usual folders to view its images as thumbnails.
【Browse Images Directly from Finder Folders】
View images in a selected folder in an easy-to-browse grid. You can also include images from subfolders, allowing you to review images stored across multiple folders in one place.
Thumbnail size is adjustable, and images can be sorted by file name, modification date, and other criteria.
【Continuous Preview in a Larger Window】
Double-click an image or press the Return key to open it in a separate preview window.
Browse the previous or next image using on-screen buttons or the Left and Right Arrow keys without closing the preview window. Fit-to-window view, 100% view, zooming, and panning are also supported, making it easy to inspect fine details.
【Organize Image Files Efficiently】
Changes made in PicFiler are applied directly to the actual files in Finder.

Batch rename options include sequential numbering, text replacement or insertion, and combinations of dates and sequential numbers. You can preview the new file names before applying them, and PicFiler detects duplicate names and conflicts with existing files in advance.
【View Photo Information】
View details about the selected image in a dedicated window, including its file name, dimensions, file size, creation date, modification date, and location.
【Back Up an Entire Folder】
Copy the current root folder, including its folder structure, to another location. You can also save it as a ZIP archive.
Before starting, you can review the number and total size of the files to be backed up. Progress is displayed while the backup is running.
【Designed with Large Image Collections in Mind】
PicFiler does not load every original image at once. Instead, it generates thumbnails as needed. This makes it easier to find and review images efficiently, even in folders containing large numbers of photos or illustrations.
