A Cunning Ruin brings a historic strategy game to life, documented among the Zuni people of New Mexico over a century ago.
The rules take 90 seconds. The board takes years.
Two serpent armies face off across a long lattice of triangles. Move along the lines. Jump an enemy to strike it down. And here is the venom: if you can keep jumping, you must. One brave move can trigger a chain that sweeps half the board, or hand your opponent the same.
Every match opens with the game's signature dare: the first piece steps into the center, and it will be taken. What happens next is up to you.
