Guild Life is a text life-simulation set in the adventurers' guild of a Western fantasy world. You take contracts off the board, you come back or you do not, and the years leave what they leave.
THE CARD NEVER SHOWS YOU THE ODDS
The board tells everyone the same thing: the rank, the danger, what the thing is known to do. What only you have is your read, and your read is built out of the ones you have already fought. Knowing more does not raise a number. It changes what the card means.
THE BOOK KEEPS FACTS, NOT SCORES
The people you hunt with are not a bar you fill. The guild's book records what happened: who you carried, who you left, what you promised and whether you paid it. Years later somebody refuses a contract and does not say why, and you know why.
AGE IS HISTORY, NOT DECORATION
A knee that learned the weather in the reeds will not go back to the reeds. The sword you have carried for twenty-three years is not a stat. Old hands are slower, and they are not surprised.
WHEN THE BOOK CLOSES
It closes around sixty. If somebody is still at the table who is young enough to carry it, you go on as them, and what they remember of you is what you did.
