VBLASTBEATS brings the Twisted Electrons BlastBeats FM groovebox to iPad, as a standalone instrument and an AUv3 plug-in. Build beats with six drum voices and four four-operator synth channels. Shape sounds with the familiar fader panel, record parameter movements, and push patterns into new territory with Wiggle modulation and performance tricks. This is a close recreation of the hardware, using much of its original user-interface code. The button combinations are part of the instrument: hold one control while touching another, just as you would on BlastBeats. Multi-touch and swipe gestures keep that hands-on workflow intact, while the added grid editor gives you a direct view of your pattern. FEATURES - FM drums and four synth channels with detailed OPL3 emulation. - Hardware-style step sequencing, pattern and kit management, and song mode. - Interactive grid editor: tap or drag to paint steps, edit synth notes, and hold a step to set pattern length. - Wiggle modulation, recorded automation and performance controls. - Mixer with level meters, mute, solo, pan and warm drive. - AUv3 with a main mix and separate instrument outputs in compatible hosts. - Sync to host and Ableton Link support. - Instrument-aware pattern randomization and gentle kit variations. - WAV recording: record immediately or arm recording to start with the sequencer, then share your take. - Autosave or manual saving, plus recall of unsaved edits in host sessions. - Import and export hardware-compatible BlastBeats libraries as ZIP archives. - High-contrast display option and an illustrated manual accessible from the menu. Just like the hardware! Incredible fm control with sliders and automation. This is a mega powerful and fun workflow. Once you memorize the button combo’s for the sequencer, it’s gets really fun. Midi and aum sessions work well. Hails to the twisted electronics for stepping up the game. This can go from chip tune to cyber blasting berserker territory.

I'm surprised and disappointed, 1. this app sounds bad. it doesn't make good sounds. 2. the interface is not good, maybe it's better as hardware but this is as far from intuitive as is possible.

- Corrected AUv3 registration metadata to address reports of missing plug-ins in Logic Pro for iPad. - Fixed operator 3 feedback in synth algorithm 3. - Fixed standalone iPad scaling so the complete panel stays visible and centred. Existing algorithm 3 sounds with nonzero operator 3 feedback may now sound different. Set that feedback to zero to retain the previous sound.
