Jam Jar is a jar puzzle for people who make jam at home, with a real recipe book tucked inside. It opens on your pantry shelf. Strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, fig, apricot, bramble, plum and quince jars sit on the plank, and today's jar is already on the stove, ready to play. There's no intro to click through. SEAL A JAR, KEEP THE RECIPE Each of the 48 puzzle recipes matches a real small-batch preserve. Seal one and its Preserve Card goes into your Preserve Book. Each card gives you: - fruit weight and sugar, with the fruit-to-sugar ratio - a short method - the set test: wrinkle test, sheet test or spoon trail, and 104.5°C / 220°F - how to sterilise and fill the jars, with boiling-water canning times - shelf life, unopened and opened Classic Strawberry, Morello Cherry, Blackcurrant Jelly, Fresh Fig & Lemon (with the bottled lemon juice figs need), Apricot & Almond, Bramble Jelly, Damson, Quince Cheese (membrillo) and many more. Each recipe makes two or three jars, which suits a weekend kitchen. HOW THE PUZZLE WORKS Crush down: three of one fruit stacked upright crush into the pan. Seal across: fill a whole row with one fruit and it seals into a layer. Fruit keeps pouring in. Crush to make room, build rows to finish the jar, and don't let it boil over the neck. A lemon sets with any fruit, sugar lumps need dissolving and fruit stones need knocking out. KITCHEN ORDER OF THE DAY A new order goes up every day and changes the rules for every jar you cook: small jars only, a double batch for the fete, a bag of lemons, jars for the show bench. YOUR PANTRY Sealed jars are dated and kept on your shelf. Label them with your own photo, sell them at the farm shop, and use the coins to open new shelves and buy kitchen tools. FULLY OFFLINE No account, no ads, no tracking and no purchases. Everything works without a connection. Large text, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion are all supported, and fruits differ by shape as well as colour.
