Baram: Grow, Wish, Keep
Grow a desktop plant!

Baram is the Korean word for wind, and also for a wish.
It is a plant that grows quietly on your desktop over eight real weeks. When it is fully grown, it has one wish waiting for you. Write a wish, and it will hang from the vine on a little thread, swinging gently in the same breeze as the leaves. The words are never drawn on your desktop, only the paper, so a wish stays yours even at a desk full of people. You read it by turning the tag over inside the app.
When you are ready, press the plant. It becomes a specimen in your herbarium: a little record of something you grew, cared for, and kept, mounted on torn paper with the day it was sown, the day it was pressed, and the wish it was carrying. From a specimen you can watch a plant's whole life replay, seed to full size, in a few seconds. Then a new seed goes into the same pot. Nothing is thrown away.
GROWING IT
Water it when it looks thirsty: click its pot, or use the menu bar. Forget about it for a few days and it may wilt, but do not worry. Give it some water and it will come back. Over time your plant grows from a small sprout into a full-grown vine. New leaves appear, buds emerge, and eventually it comes into flower.
It grows on a real calendar, not a timer. There is nothing to check in on, nothing to level up, and no way to hurry it. Using the app more does not grow anything faster.
Every so often a breath of wind runs through it and you look up.
THREE VARIETIES
Choose from three plants, each with its own hand-drawn leaves, colors, and way of growing. Choose a pot to go with it, too. No two plants grow exactly the same way. Every one follows a path of its own.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No accounts. No analytics. No networking code. Baram never connects to the internet. Everything it remembers stays right here on your Mac.
Grown on your own time, and kept.
