Burnin: Video Captions
On-device video captions
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Burnin turns your vertical videos into captioned, ready-to-post clips, entirely on your iPhone. No internet connection, no account, no server. Your footage never leaves your device.
WHY CAPTIONS MATTER
Most people watch Reels, TikTok, and Shorts on mute. Without on-screen text, they scroll past. Burnin gets your words onto the screen quickly, so you can post more and edit less.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Pick a video from your Photos library or the Files app
2. Burnin transcribes the audio on-device, with automatic language detection
3. Review and fix the transcript in a fast, focused editing screen: retime lines, merge or split segments, correct words the transcript got wrong
4. Choose from ready-made caption styles and preview them live over your video
5. Export a new video with captions burned in, or export an SRT file to use elsewhere
BUILT FOR REAL EDITING, NOT JUST TRANSCRIPTS
Automatic transcription is never perfect. Burnin is built around making the correction pass painless: clear line breaks, sensible timing defaults, and an editor that keeps you moving instead of fighting the tool.
SPEAKER TURNS
When more than one person is talking, Burnin marks where a new speaker starts, using the standard dash convention subtitles use for dialogue, so back-and-forth conversations don't run together as one voice.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Transcription and rendering all happen on your device. Burnin does not require sign-in, does not create an account for you, and does not send your video or transcript anywhere.
Burnin is for anyone who posts short vertical video and wants captions without the wait, the upload, or the subscription nag.
