I Need is the shared list for everything your household "needs".
Say it out loud - "I need an inner-tube for the bike", "I need a present for the party on Sunday" "Add chicken to my Costco list"- and it lands on the right list with the right date. Say several things at once and they are split into separate items. Everything is shown to you before it is saved, so nothing is added without your approval.
NOT ANOTHER TO-DO APP
This is not a chore tracker or a productivity system. It is the running answer to the one question every household asks: what do we need? Groceries, errands, gifts, the thing that broke last week. One place, shared by everyone.
SHARED WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LIVE WITH
Invite your family and everyone sees the same lists on their own device. Add milk on the way home and it is there for whoever reaches the shop first. (Don't worry not every list is public)
A BOARD FOR THE KITCHEN
On iPad the Today view becomes a board with a column for each person, so everyone's needs sit side by side on one screen. Leave it on the counter and the whole household can see what is outstanding at a glance.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Speech is transcribed on your device. The step that turns what you said into list items runs on your device too. Nothing you say is uploaded and nothing is collected. Your lists live in your own iCloud account, not on anyone's server.

Bug fixes
• Family invites work now. Tapping one opens I Need and joins the household, instead of asking you to update.
• The Family screen shows who's in your household and who hasn't joined yet.
• Changes from your family can now arrive in the background.
• The Family screen no longer says “Waiting for the first sync” when sync is working.
