DuoScreen brings the fluid fold of iPhone Duo to your MacBook. As the lid comes down, the live desktop tilts away into a trapezoid, softens under a liquid-glass blur that grows toward its top, and dissolves under a soft haze — windows, wallpaper and Dock moving together. Open the lid and everything settles back into place with a soft click.
HOW IT WORKS
• Lid sensor. DuoScreen reads the hinge angle straight from the Mac's own sensor. No accessibility hacks, no guessing.
• Live desktop. The built-in display is captured and rendered with Metal in real time, so the fold follows exactly what is on your screen.
• Anchored at the hinge. The bottom edge stays put; only the far edge narrows and leans away.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Four looks: Duo, Velvet, Ink and Glacier. Duo is the iPhone Duo's own fold — it blurs with the hinge and fades to black.
• One tap for intensity (Subtle, Balanced, Strong) and one for when the fold starts (Early, Standard, Late).
• Or fine-tune every detail: shrink, perspective, overall blur, variable blur, shadow, haze and soft edges.
• Soft edges that melt into black instead of ending in a hard line.
• Choose the angle where the effect clears, or drag the angle yourself in the live preview.
QUIET BY DEFAULT
• Lives in the menu bar, nothing in the Dock.
• Launch at login, pause with one click.
• Optional soft click when the lid opens and the desktop clears.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Frames are processed on your Mac. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded. No account, no analytics, no tracking.
REQUIREMENTS
• macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
• An Apple silicon MacBook with a lid angle sensor (MacBook Pro 14"/16" from 2021, MacBook Air from M2, 16" MacBook Pro 2019).
• Screen Recording permission, so the desktop can be captured. DuoScreen asks on first launch.

• Duo, a new look that folds the way iPhone Duo closes: sharp at the hinge, blurring more toward the top of the lid the further it closes, and fading to black.
• Simpler settings: pick a look, then Subtle, Balanced or Strong and when the fold starts. Every slider is still there under Fine-tune.
• The preview in Settings plays the fold by itself, so you can see a look without closing the lid.
• A lid left part-way open no longer keeps a folded copy of the desktop on screen; it settles back into focus.
• Smoother: the fold now runs at your display's full refresh rate, 120 Hz on ProMotion.
• Menu bar: switch looks, preview the fold, and pause for an hour or until tomorrow. The icon dims while paused.
• Respects Reduce Motion: no tilt, just a gentle blur and fade.
• A new icon, and fixes for a double cursor, flicker near the clear angle and folding over the lock screen.
