HootCare connects a child's speech-language pathologist (SLP) with the six days a week they aren't in the room. It works on iPhone and iPad. The SLP picks the exact speech targets — a sound, a blend like BR, where it sits in the word, words or sentences — and HootCare turns them into short, playful practice sessions a family can actually finish.
For families
- 10 minutes a day: say-it-with-Hoot practice, speed rounds, tongue twisters, silly fill-in stories, and a storybook — all built around your child's prescribed sounds
- Hoot listens during practice and cheers honest effort (practice clips are kept only with your consent, and never without it)
- Collect Hoot cards and keep a forgiving streak — encouragement, not pressure
- A weekly "how's it going" summary in plain language
For SLPs
- Prescribe once: targets, session size, and a practice plan (daily or every-other-day) with automatic variety so families see something fresh each day
- Assign in seconds from a library grouped by sound
- See honest practice data between sessions — tries, what was said clearly, per-target — never inflated accuracy
- Add the whole family with an invite code
HootCare is home-practice support prescribed and supervised by a licensed speech-language pathologist. It is not therapy and not a replacement for your SLP.
Accounts are created by adults only. Keeping a child's practice clips is consent-gated per child, and they're deleted after 90 days. No ads. No tracking.
For practices, HootCare is a monthly auto-renewable subscription purchased in the app. The Starter plan covers 10 kids, and practices add kids as their caseload grows (about $2.49 a month per extra kid, with no cap). New practices get their first 30 days free, and families never pay.

Practice with Hoot is now hands-free: Hoot speaks, a chime says it's your turn, the mic opens on its own and the turn ends when your child goes quiet. Fewer buttons on every screen, and a garden that grows a flower every five tries. SLPs can choose how each child's activities feel and can now use all 9 steps of the sound ladder.
