Every street has its regulars. Noraneko learns to tell them apart.
Point the camera at a cat. Noraneko finds the animal in the frame, cuts it from
the background, and turns its face into a fingerprint — then checks that against
every cat you have already met. All of it runs on your phone's own neural
engine.
No server. No account. No upload. Your cats and your photographs never leave
the device.
IT WORKS ANYWHERE
Recognition, ranks, the coat guide, the map — none of it asks for a connection.
A basement, a mountain, aeroplane mode. The only thing two phones ever talk to
is each other, and only when you trade.
A RECORD FOR EVERY CAT
Days seen, places found, months known, how many genuinely different views you
have. Sitting, standing or lying is read automatically, and whether the cat was
eating. Kitten or adult. The coat named from real descriptions — tuxedo,
calico, ginger tabby — filling in a guide as you meet them.
A cat's page is a record of a relationship, not a photo album.
EVERY CAT PRINTS A CARD
Five designs, from a plain Snapshot to a full Foil, each unlocked by how well
you know the animal. The cards are three-dimensional objects: they catch the
light, they answer the tilt of the phone, and the foil ones move as you move.
Runs are finite. A Snapshot has copies to spare; a Foil is one of one. Giving
one away means you no longer have it.
TRADE IN PERSON, PHONE TO PHONE
Scan the other person's code and the two devices talk directly — over the local
network, or over Bluetooth when there is no network at all. Both cards cross
before either side commits, so you always see what you are getting and what you
are giving.
CLIMB, AND BRING THEM WITH YOU
Cats go from Stranger to Companion as you get to know them, and you climb your
own ladder alongside: Passerby, Scout, Observer, Tracker, Cartographer,
Chronicler, Naturalist. Each rung unlocks a card design or more prints to give
away — never anything rarer, so a Foil is a Foil whoever holds it.
HELP ONE FIND A HOME
Any cat can be turned into a card built for one job: the photograph, the coat,
the age, the street it lives on, and the other times you have seen it. Made to
be handed to somebody who might take it in.
It is the one card in the app not meant to be collected.
Made for the cats who were already there.
Requires iOS 17 or later. Location is optional.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
- Cat outlines now include the whole cat. Raised tails and stretched paws used to get cut off at the edge of the cat's box; now they're traced too.
- Outlines of cats already in your collection are redrawn once in the background after the update. Cards you've already printed keep their original outline.
- Tapping to focus now shows a cat's head instead of a square.
