Model with a few friendly tools, pick an era, render. Raytraced chrome, fogged landscapes, low-poly game looks. Free to use; the full version removes the watermark.
Orbit 3D is a modeler and renderer that lives, on purpose, in the golden age of 90s computer graphics. Chrome spheres over checkered ground. Abstract metalheart shapes. Raytraced landscapes with fog rolling in. The smooth-shaded low poly look of late 90s games. You model with a small set of friendly tools, pick an era, and render.
MODEL | 21 primitives, from spheres and boxes to lathes, spline tubes, metaballs, terrain, water, growing plants and extruded text. Numerous deformers including: twist, bend, taper, melt, spherify, shatter, cage and more, stacked in any order. Booleans that cut and join solids. Polygon editing with extrude, bevel, inset, knife, bridge and a soft magnet. Arrays that scatter copies across a volume, along a path, or over a landscape.
DRESS | A material library in ten families with one click presets and a ROLL button that generates new ones. Environments with skies, sun, clouds, wind, fog, stars and a moon. Place your own lights.
RENDER | Five era presets reconfigure the whole renderer in one click: RAY '95 for hard shadows and mirror reflections, TERRA '96 for fogged landscapes, RADIOSITY '96 for soft bounced light, GLIDE '99 for the console look with vertex colors and dither, CHROME 2000 for the polished turn of the century finish. Every control behind them is yours to adjust. Renders are traced on the CPU, one pixel at a time, the way it was done back in the day.
MOVE | Loop Studio animates any parameter on a lane and exports loops that join without a seam, as GIF, MP4, or a PNG frame sequence. Turntables spin the camera around a scene. PIXEL SCALE upscales before encoding so dither and chunky pixels survive downstream uploads. Create perfectly looped clips for your next visual mixtape.
The Scene Wizard builds a landscape, or your name in chrome, from a single roll, for the days you want to start from something.
FREE AND FULL | Orbit 3D is free to use for as long as you like, with two limits: renders and movies carry a small Orbit 3D watermark, and geometry cannot leave the app as an object or OBJ file. Everything else works. The full version is a one-time purchase inside the app that removes the watermark and turns on geometry export, on every Mac signed into your Apple Account.
Orbit 3D runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. Scenes are plain files you own; no account, no subscription, nothing collected.
