Active thinking, not passive watching: short rounds that sharpen color memory and attention. Designed for iPhone/iPad. No ads, no account, no data collected. COLOR MEMORY - a short, active mind exercise that sharpens your color memory and attention. WHY IT IS DIFFERENT Most apps for kids (and adults) just make you watch: bright colors, repetitive songs, endless looping videos. That keeps attention passive and asks nothing of the brain. This game does the opposite. A color flashes briefly, disappears, and then YOU have to find it again among shades that are deliberately close to it. Every round makes you decide, compare, and remember - you are not watching, you are thinking. HOW TO PLAY - A color appears briefly in the box - The box goes empty, you wait a few seconds - Then 2 to 8 colors appear; one is the color you saw, the others are close shades on purpose - Pick the right one - the higher the difficulty, the closer the shades get FULLY YOUR SETTINGS - 4 difficulty levels, from Easy to Very Hard - Number of colors: 2, 4, 6 or 8 - Display time, wait time, delay before the next round - all adjustable - Turn on real RGB/HSL values under each option if you want them - English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Turkish - opens automatically in your device's language DESIGNED FOR EVERY SCREEN Built separately for iPhone and iPad - portrait, landscape, small screen, large screen, the interface rearranges itself to whatever device you are holding. Never cramped on a phone, never lost in empty space on an iPad. WHICH PART OF THE BRAIN DOES THIS EXERCISE? Right after the color disappears, you carry it for a few hundred milliseconds as a raw impression of your eye (iconic memory). As that impression fades, you have to actually hold the color in memory and tell it apart from similar shades - this engages visual working memory and the areas of the visual cortex responsible for telling hues apart. Feeling unsure between close shades is not random: working memory has limited resolution, and once it is full, colors get represented more coarsely. The more rounds you repeat, the more this information held in short-term memory gets reinforced through repetition - you are also exercising the mechanism your brain uses to move short-term memories into long-term ones. Past a certain age, including preschool and early school years, this kind of short, repeated attention and memory exercise can help strengthen selective attention - the opposite of passive video watching, it demands real mental engagement.
