Album Trail connects your photos with the places and journeys behind them. Organize your library, revisit a trip and turn your memories into a map to share.
Revisit your photos on a map
Explore photo locations in Memories, see the regions your photos cover in Places, and follow a trip in Journeys. Create a journey from an album, date range or selected photos. Add stops, adjust their order and position, edit names, choose map photos and transport, or merge and split stops.
Organize and find your photos
Create albums, add notes and choose photos from album suggestions. Filter by date, media type and favorites, or search photo content, text in images, album names and notes. Recognition models are included with the app. Photo recognition and content search run on your device; photos and search text are not sent to a cloud recognition service. Recognition can miss or misidentify content.
Share a map of your memories
Memories, Places and Journeys share one Export & Share experience. Choose a 3:4, 4:3 or 1:1 format, inspect the complete image in a full-screen preview, then save it to Photos or use the iOS share sheet.
Stay in control
Limited photo access is supported, and no Album Trail account is required. Optional iCloud backup stores album organization and notes, not original photos, recognition indexes or journeys. Removing an Album Trail album or journey does not delete photos from your library. Deleting an original photo requires separate confirmation.
Maps, place lookups, Places boundary data and photos stored only in iCloud need an internet connection. Recognition does not analyze video frames. See Profile → Privacy for details.

• A map-first home
Explore your photos and travels through Memories, Places, and Journeys, all in one place.
• Create and personalize journeys
Build a journey from an album, a date range, or selected photos. Add stops, adjust their locations and order, edit names, choose map photos and transport, and merge or split stops.
• Improved album suggestions
Select multiple places and review the photos you want to add. Suggestions are removed once you accept them, accept only part of them, or dismiss them. Further recommendations appear as they become ready.
• A consistent Export & Share experience
Export maps from Memories, Places, and Journeys in 3:4, 4:3, or 1:1. View the complete image in full screen before saving it to Photos or sharing it.
• Fixes and refinements
Improved photo browsing, translations, and larger-text layouts. Fixed issues with photo locations on maps, slow Places exports, storage usage reporting, and suggestion loading.
