The whole day as one strip of hours, read against the limits you set for your own aircraft. See the whole day's drone weather as one strip of hours, and know at a glance which of them you can fly. Pitot reads the forecast hour by hour against the limits you set for your own aircraft, not against a generic rule. Every hour is a mark: solid to fly, outlined for caution, crossed where something is over your limit. Open an hour to see which factor decided it. WHAT IT DOES Set the wind and gust your aircraft can take, along with visibility, cloud, rain, temperature and the K index, and keep a different set for each aircraft you own. Find the next window to fly, and the best window today, computed from your own numbers rather than picked by eye. Check the planetary K index before you trust the compass, from NOAA's public space weather data. See civil twilight drawn into the hours themselves, so the last flyable hour is something you can see rather than work out. Night is no-go unless you have said you fly at night. Plan the week from the ten day outlook, each day summarised in the same marks as the strip. Search any place with no permission at all. The first screen is a search field, and every feature works from a place you searched for. Location is optional, approximate, and never required. Run your own pre-flight checklist, and log the flight when you land. Keep the next window on your Lock Screen and Home Screen with the widgets. Offline, Pitot shows the last reading it managed to get and says how old it is, rather than showing you nothing or pretending it is current. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO Pitot does not know your airspace. It draws no map, no no-fly zone and no airport ring, and it links to your aviation authority's own tool by name. It never tells you a flight is safe, legal, cleared or permitted: the verdicts describe the weather against your own numbers, and the decision stays yours. It reports surface wind, not winds aloft. A forecast is a forecast. THE OUTLOOK PASS Today and tomorrow are free for one place and one aircraft, for good, including the verdicts, the K index and the twilight hours. The Outlook Pass adds the ten day outlook, every place, every aircraft, the morning notice and the whole flight log. It is sold monthly, yearly, or as a one time purchase; prices are shown in your own currency on the purchase screen before you buy, and any introductory offer is stated there. A subscription renews at the end of each period until you cancel it in the App Store. A one time purchase does not renew. Weather data provided by Apple Weather, with the data sources link on every weather surface. Space weather from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.
