Free tier: inventory, 2D map, 2 characters, 3 servers, 2 hotkeys; a video gives 15 minutes of Pro, 3 times a day. Extras over limits are hidden, not deleted. Alerts in the background and screen-off mode, each with its own switch. Background: no notification on Android with unrestricted battery (otherwise a silent one); swiping the app away now just closes it. On iOS, staying connected in the background is now opt-in. Steadier 2.5D map.

New: the live 2D map is now free for everyone, with the players and mobs around you. The 2.5D view is part of Pro. The 2.5D view is experimental: it is still in development and we know about many bugs in it, so it says so before it opens. The 2D map no longer draws a grid of chunk lines, and repaints less while chunks arrive. Fixed: on iPhone the app could close itself while the 2.5D view was drawing.

New in Settings: Ad privacy choices, where you can change your ad consent at any time (in the EU and wherever it is required). Your Pro status is now at the top of Settings, with a countdown while a video trial runs. During a trial you can add more users and servers; when it ends without a purchase, your first user and server stay. Fixed a crash on servers that send malformed colour codes.

Long-press a chat message to see when it arrived and to copy it. The player list no longer cuts names short: it is laid out in columns like in the game, and scrolls sideways when it is wide. Free users can try Pro for 15 minutes by watching a short video, up to three times a day. Stability fixes, and a clearer message when Microsoft sign-in is refused.

Opening the app checks your servers straight away again; it no longer takes a pull to refresh. When you hold a map, the chat shows only that map, not the ones lying around you. The sidebar and the player list no longer stay empty after joining a busy server.

Minecraft 26.3 is now supported. When you add a server, MineChat checks it straight away. It also checks the address as soon as you've typed it, so a typo shows up before you save.

New: home screen and Lock Screen widgets (iOS 17 and later). Add one to see a saved server's players and ping at a glance, and tap it to refresh. New: optional usage statistics. MineChat asks once, after your first session, whether you want to share which screens you use and whether connecting worked, so we can see what to fix. It is off unless you agree, never includes your username, chat or the servers you join, and can be changed any time in Settings.
