Pick the right gate, grow your Viking horde and take on a dragon at the end of every level.
Horde vs Dragon is a crowd runner with a brain. Your warriors charge down the road, and every gate is a choice: ×2 or +24? The bigger number is not always the better gate. Choose well and a handful of Vikings becomes a wall of steel. Choose badly and you reach the dragon with too few.
How you play
• Drag to steer your horde with one finger, one-handed in portrait mode
• Hold a gate in your fire to charge it up and improve its number
• Break open cages to free captives who join your ranks
• Dodge barrels and rolling rocks, grab coins on the way
• Bring the right weapon: scouts fall to arrows, berserkers to swords, shield bearers to axes, spear throwers to shields
• Fill the Rage Horn and unleash it for four seconds of double damage
The dragons
Every level ends with a dragon fight. Read the red warning, dodge the fire and keep your warriors alive. Five kinds of dragons bring new attacks, some split in two, and on every tenth level the dragon takes to the air and drops fireballs while you run.
Runs, heroes and the forge
• Every run starts at level 1 and goes as far as your horde can carry it. If your horde falls, continue with Dragon Runes or one free video per run, or start a fresh run
• Spend your loot in the forge: weapons, fire rate, range, damage
• Earn Glory and unlock six heroes, each with an ability that replaces the Rage Horn
• Glory also buys permanent bonuses in the Hall of Legends that stay with you in every run
• Come back for the daily Raid: three tasks and a streak chest
• Follow the Dragon Trail for chests along the way
• Tora, your sharp-tongued guide, warns you about every new enemy type; Fafni, a small dragon with a big head for business, runs the shop
For the long run
• A long campaign, then an Endless Mode when you want a number to beat
• Three difficulties: Normal, Veteran and Runemaster. Veteran and Runemaster turn every gate into a two-step calculation, and Runemaster adds roots, powers and logarithms
• World leaderboards through Game Center
• Ten languages, no account needed
Free to play with ads and optional in-app purchases (such as Dragon Runes, ad removal and the Gold Track). Watching a video to continue or earn extra loot is optional, and the short ads between levels can be removed with a one-time purchase. Weapons, upgrades and heroes can all be earned by playing.
