Digital Rain turns your desktop into a quiet cascade of falling glyphs, drawn live behind your icons.
It isn't a video loop. Every column is generated on the GPU, frame by frame, so it never repeats, never stutters, and takes a few milliseconds per frame even on a 5K display. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is streamed.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Eight themes — Classic Green, Deep Terminal, Amber CRT, Ice, Crimson, Violet, Monochrome and more, or pick your own trail and leading-glyph colours
• Six glyph sets — katakana, katakana with digits, Latin, digits, binary, hexadecimal and symbols
• Tune everything — fall speed, density, trail length, glyph mutation rate, flicker, glow, glyph size and brightness
• Choose your font, including the system monospaced face
• Fade the backdrop to let your own desktop picture show through behind the rain
• A live preview in the settings window, so you see every change as you make it
BUILT TO LEAVE RUNNING
• Stops rendering entirely when it's fully covered by other windows
• Pauses in Low Power Mode, and on battery if you want it to

STAYS OUT OF THE WAY
Digital Rain is completely click-through: your desktop icons, right-click menus and drag-and-drop all behave exactly as before. It lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon and no windows of its own.
PRIVACY
No network access of any kind. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no data collection. The app is sandboxed and requests no permissions beyond running. Your settings live on your Mac and nowhere else.
