FRAMES: 30 frames made from real film, in 7 families, in the new Frame column of DEVELOP and CUT: filed-out negative, darkroom print, instant photo, slide, 120 medium format, 35 mm with sprockets and 8 mm. Choose between the photo's aspect ratio and the film format. Pinch and drag to fit the image inside the frame's window. Hold your finger still, then drag for fine adjustment, with snapping and guides. LIGHT & TEXTURE: light leak, dust and scratches, each with its own strength, add to any frame. GEOMETRY: VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL join STRAIGHTEN in the photo's Crop to fix perspective. In CUT, the new Geometry column straightens, rotates, mirrors and fixes the perspective of your video. Every frame began as a photo of real film; the light and texture come from free photos and textures. VIDEO ORIGINAL: every video you record in HazeCam now keeps its original alongside, without the chemistry, just like your photos. The original comes out in Rec.709 on the Rec.709 cameras and in Log on the cameras with a Log LUT, full frame and with sound. It goes into the Video roll in CUT on its own, with the look it was recorded with. Tap Original to see the video without the chemistry, and As shot to go back to the look you recorded with. Switch camera, film and light after recording and save a new copy. The video already in Photos does not change. The original stays in the app and does not go to Photos. In DUAL, above 30 frames per second, or when the iPhone is hot or low on free space, the video records as usual and only the original is left out. Watching is free. CUT: the videos you already have go through the chemistry. Open a video from Photos or Files and watch it play in every HazeCam camera and film. Switch camera, film and light while the video plays. Hold the video to see the before. Original, to the left of the cameras, shows the video as it arrived. Video in Apple Log or Apple Log 2: tap Rec.709 for Apple's conversion, or a camera to develop straight from Log. Save copy: choose HEVC, H.264 or ProRes (on iPhones that record ProRes) and the resolution. The copy goes to Photos with the original sound, and the original stays untouched in the Video roll. The copy is never lost: if you leave the app or the iPhone gets hot, it pauses and picks up where it stopped. LANDSCAPE PHOTOS: with iPhone held sideways, the photo now comes out in landscape and complete in 16:9 and 4:3. An older photo that came out cropped: open it in DEVELOP and tap Save copy. FASTER SHUTTER: take the next photo without waiting for the last one to be ready. Photos are developed in the background, at maximum quality, and the thumbnail shows how many are left. Right after the shot, the screen shows exactly what was in the viewfinder, even with iPhone sideways and the frame on. RECORDING: the viewfinder shows how many minutes fit in the chosen format. Out of space, or with a hot iPhone in ProRes, the app offers to record in HEVC with one tap. Fixes and improvements.

NIGHT: when the light runs out, HazeCam now lets the shutter go down to 1/24 — up to twice the light, without changing the film's color. In video, it goes back to normal on its own when the light improves. It comes on; to turn it off: Settings > Night. Fixes and improvements.

DEVELOP: develop your photos again with any camera and any film. The Roll keeps the original of every photo you take in HazeCam. Exposure, temperature and tint; crop, straighten and rotate. You save a new copy, and the original stays untouched. Import photos from your iPhone too. HazeCam never reads your library: you pick each photo in the iPhone's own picker, and the app only sees that one. In the Roll, when you delete a photo that only exists in HazeCam, the app warns you and offers Save first: the photo goes to Photos, and only then is it deleted. 9 new cameras for Apple Log 2: CLARUS, MEDIUS, NITOR, AURUM, INSULA, LUCERNA, PROBA, UNDA and BOREAS. They only appear on iPhones that record in Apple Log 2. LUT cameras: the LUT now comes out 100% pure. The app adds no contrast or blacks on top. Imported LUT: in the Made for line, choose Rec.709, Apple Log or Apple Log 2. Each Log works on the iPhones that record in it. It works with DUAL too. In the camera, smaller icons and more viewfinder. In PHOTO mode, the viewfinder now stays steady. Tap the viewfinder to focus and drag to brighten or darken; a long press locks focus and exposure. Rule-of-thirds Grid in Settings. CUT is coming soon.

A smoother viewfinder: the app no longer freezes when you come back to it, open a sheet or switch lenses. Fix: the CONTRAST slider in the ADJUST tab now applies to photos too. Your photo comes out with the same contrast you see in the viewfinder. Stability and performance improvements.

New BLACKS slider in the ADJUST tab: open up the shadows or take the black deeper. It starts at zero and goes into the saved look. Cameras now keep the detail in the shadows: dark areas no longer collapse into a single flat tone. Fix: the front camera could open upside down or sideways. It now opens upright. Fix: close to a subject, the image no longer jumps to the 0.5× lens on its own. For macro, pick 0.5×.

ADJUST tab in the LAB: contrast, highlights and HSL by color (hue, saturation and light across eight colors). Everything starts at zero and goes into the saved look. The LAB sheet is cleaner: one row to choose and one large slider to dial it in. Front camera: video and photos come out exactly as you saw them in the viewfinder, with the whole scene. Fix: some camera and film combinations darkened the corners of the image. They no longer do.
