Aurora Forecast & Alerts
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
The app is currently available in English only.
Plan your next night under the northern lights with Aurora Signal. Check modeled aurora activity for your location and explore the aurora map.
FREE FEATURES
View current aurora activity, explore the aurora map, save one place and share a place or an aurora activity card. Search for a city, select a point on the map or use your location. Location permission is optional.
AURORA PREMIUM
Unlock cloud coverage, temperature and wind, a 24-hour cloud and darkness outlook, nearby-area comparisons, alerts for your chosen fixed locations, and up to 20 saved places. The 24-hour outlook describes weather and darkness, not a 24-hour aurora forecast.
UNDERSTAND NEARBY CONDITIONS
Premium includes a satellite-based map of artificial nighttime light, with coverage from 65°S to 75°N. This is not a measurement of sky brightness. Nearby comparisons show modeled sample areas, not verified accessible viewing sites.
FORECASTS HAVE LIMITS
Aurora Signal uses NOAA aurora model data, MET Norway weather and astronomical calculations. Conditions can change quickly. Clouds, local lighting and the horizon affect visibility. Forecasts do not guarantee a sighting.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Premium requires a weekly or annual auto-renewing subscription. Prices, billing periods and any eligible introductory offers are shown before purchase. Manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account.
