The boiler's serial number is on a sticker behind it, the dishwasher's receipt is in an email, the paint code is in your head, and the day any of them matters is the day none of them can be found. My House, My Things is a quiet record of your house: the rooms, the things in them, what each cost and when its warranty ends, and the jobs that come round: the boiler service, the gutters, the smoke alarms, with a note of what you did and what it cost every time you mark one done. WHAT IT KEEPS • Things, by room: make, model, serial, where you bought it, what you paid, when the warranty ends. A thing needs a name and nothing else; fill in the rest whenever you next look at it. • Jobs that repeat: "every 12 months", "4 Feb 27", "a week before". It tells you what's overdue and by how long, and what's coming. • Details: the paint codes, filter sizes, fuse ratings and stopcock locations you look up twice a decade. • A history per thing, and one log for the whole house. Every service, every receipt, every change, in date order. • Receipts, manuals and photos attached to the thing they belong to. Scan straight from your iPhone with Continuity Camera. HOW IT READS WHAT YOU TYPE Dates, repeats and costs are typed the way you'd say them, and the app says back what it understood before it adds anything. If it can't read "soon", it says so rather than guessing. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO There is no account and no sign-up. Nothing about your house leaves your Mac; the app has no permission to open a network connection at all. The whole house is one file; both the inventory and the log export to CSV in one click, so your records are never held to ransom. No subscription: buy it once, keep it, free updates through version 1.
