Mac

A small companion on your desk. It sits the way you sit: slump and it slumps with you, straighten and it recovers in about two seconds. Nothing to score, nothing to send. A small paper character sits at the corner of your screen. When you slump, it slumps. When you straighten up, it comes back in about two seconds. It never tells you to sit up straight. It just sits the way you are sitting. The camera has to be on for that. The app has no network entitlement at all, so it cannot reach the internet, and Activity Monitor will show you that. Nothing is recorded, and no frame is ever written to disk. Those are facts you can check, not promises. Slow to complain, quick to forgive Minutes of slumping before the character sags. Seconds of sitting up before it recovers. That asymmetry is the point. It is what lets you feel cause and effect without a single instruction. Your own normal, not a correct posture Before it measures anything, Deskami asks you to sit the way you normally sit and takes a five-second reference. Everything after that is compared with that reference. There is no idea of a correct posture inside the app. What it watches Posture: how far your head and shoulders sit below the reference you took. It says nothing about your spine; it shows how long you sat below your own usual. Screen distance: how much closer your face is than at your reference, read from the spacing of your eyes. Blinking: blinks a minute, and blinks that do not close fully. Looking away: the 20-20-20 habit, about every 20 minutes, roughly 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds. The number counts the times you did it, not the times you were reminded. Each of the four can be switched off on its own. How a warning arrives The character changes first, in silence. If the state lasts, one notification follows, and then that signal stays quiet for a while. Never two signals at once. Never a window that blocks the screen. The trigger is a state, not a clock. Where it could not measure, it says so Eyes can be read only while your face is visible, the light is enough and your head faces the camera. Minutes it could not read are drawn as not measured. Gaps are never filled with zeros. At the end of the day A day summary lays out the day hour by hour, with the four signals and a few sentences naming what happened. Nothing is added up into a grade. A week view sits beside it, and after a few days Deskami starts naming the patterns that keep coming back. These are observations, not targets. Privacy, in full Video is never recorded, and no frame is ever written to disk. The only picture you see is the live preview while you take your reference. The app has no network entitlement. It cannot reach the internet, and you can check that yourself in Activity Monitor. Keystrokes and window titles are never read. Everything stays on this Mac. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporter. What is deliberately missing No streaks, no scores, no grades, no leaderboards, no comparison with other people. The only comparison is with your own earlier days. No red anywhere. Slouching is not a verdict. It is something that happened this afternoon. Out of the way It lives in the menu bar. It can hide during calls and screen sharing, and in full screen, if you want it to. Warnings can be paused for an hour. The camera can be switched off for an hour, or for the rest of the day; those minutes read as not measured in the day summary. Free, and Deskami Plus Everything above is free, for good: every measurement and every warning, today, this week and last week, today's per-app breakdown, and Leaf and Stone. Deskami Plus is a single one-time purchase, no subscription. It adds the history older than two weeks, a month view, export to CSV, JSON and PDF, the per-app breakdown of earlier days and of the week and the month, and Furry. macOS 26 or later, Apple silicon. Deskami shows you how you sit, how close you are to the screen and how often you blink, and reminds you. It describes what happened at the desk; it does not assess or diagnose anything. Nothing it sees leaves your Mac.
