Escale brings road trip planning and turn-by-turn navigation together in one app.
Plan your trip day by day. Each day has its main route (the stops you have committed to, in order) and a set of free places: spots you might visit if time allows. They all sit on the same map, so you always see what is on your way and what is not.
SEE THE DETOUR BEFORE YOU TAKE IT
Tempted by a waterfall, a viewpoint or a café a little off the road? Tap "Add to route" and Escale shows you exactly what it costs, for example "+9 min · +6 km", before anything changes. Confirm and it slots into the best position in your route. Cancel and nothing moves.
PLAN EACH DAY
• Search places along your route, around a stop or anywhere on the map
• Drag and drop to reorder stops; the route updates when you let go
• Optimize the order of the day in one tap
• Set visit durations and breaks, and see estimated arrival times for every stop
• Add a "be there by" time and see at a glance if you are running late
• Spread all your places across the days of the trip by geographic proximity
• Mark places as must-see, maybe or visited, and filter your list
• Estimate the fuel cost of each day from your own consumption and fuel price
DRIVE IT
• Turn-by-turn guidance to each stop of the day, in order
• Short, clear instructions, with ETA and remaining distance
• Automatic arrival detection, then on to the next stop
• Go off route and a new route is calculated from where you are
• Take a detour on the go: tap a free place on the map to preview it and add it
• Prefer Waze for voice guidance? Hand the current stop over in one tap
• Lost your connection? Your last route stays on screen
CARPLAY
Start a trip day from your car's screen and follow the guidance on the dashboard: next maneuver, list of stops with arrival times, change of destination and zoom.
SHARE YOUR TRIP
• Generate a recap for each day or for the whole trip: distance, time, stops and a map of your actual route, ready to share as an image
• Export a trip as a file and send it by AirDrop, Mail or Messages; the recipient opens it in Escale and gets their own copy
YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. Your trips are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. Your location is used only during navigation and is never sent anywhere. Maps, search and directions are powered by Apple Maps.

What's new in version 1.2
• Rename your days: give each day a name ("Arrival in Lyon", "French Riviera"…) with a long press on the day tab, or from "Edit trip".
• A more accurate overview: the "All" tab now draws your routes along the actual roads instead of straight lines.
• Better recaps: when there's no GPS trace, the recap map also follows the road route.
• Search: the suggestion list now scrolls without disappearing.
• Fixes: day numbering after deleting a day, alignment of the confirm buttons.
