Manage every window on your desktop from the keyboard. Windows arrange themselves to fit your screen and the window you use, and a lost window is only a search away.
Manage every window on your desktop, all from the keyboard.
Window Resizer arranges your windows automatically, fitting them to your screen's resolution and to the size of the window you are using. When a window is lost behind the rest, search for it by its title or its app's name. Everything, from finding a window to arranging it, works from the keyboard.
WINDOW RESIZING
Press Control-Option-Space to see every app's windows gathered into stacks of cards. The window you were using is already picked; choose another with the arrow keys or the mouse and press Return: that app's windows are cascaded with the one you chose in front. On a small screen the stacks shrink so every app still fits.
SEARCH
Start typing as soon as the list opens. A word from an app's name or a window's title leaves only the windows that match, and Return arranges the first one. Escape clears the search, then closes the list.
ARRANGED TO YOUR SCREEN
- Left (⌃⌥←) puts the chosen window at the bottom left and stacks the rest behind it, title bars in view.
- Right (⌃⌥→) does the same from the bottom right.
- Top (⌃⌥↑) and Bottom (⌃⌥↓) stack the windows down the middle of the screen, fanned out to both sides.
Every window takes the chosen window's size. The stack spreads further apart on a wider screen, and a stack that reaches an edge turns back there, so it uses the whole screen and no window ends up off it. Windows already arranged that way are left as they are.
ONE WINDOW, EXACTLY PLACED
- 1/4: ⌃⌥U, I, J, K
- 1/2: ⌃⌥, and .
- 1/3: ⌃⌥D, F, G
- 2/3: ⌃⌥E, R, T
- Fill/Center: ⌃⌥Return fills the screen below the menu bar; press it again to center the window at its previous size.
MORE THAN ONE DISPLAY
Press Left, Right, Top, Bottom, a 1/4, a 1/2, or Left or Right 1/3 or 2/3 again on windows it has already arranged, and they move to the nearest display in that direction. They land on the facing side, so Left 1/3 becomes Right 1/3 on the display to the left, and repeated presses keep them travelling the same way.
MORE
- Green Button Menu: rest the pointer on a window's green button to pick any arrangement.
- Application Previews: see what is in each window on its card (needs Screen Recording).
- Every shortcut can be changed or turned off in Settings.
PRIVACY
Window Resizer moves windows through a shortcut you add to the Shortcuts app once. It has no account, no server and no network access, and nothing it reads leaves your Mac.
Requires macOS 26 or later.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• The window list now closes with Esc or a click even when there are no windows to arrange.
• If Screen Recording hasn't been allowed yet, Window Resizer asks for it at launch instead of opening the window list on top of the request.
