Fair expense splitting for couples: each pays by what they earn, and the month settles with a single transfer.
Fifty-fifty is only fair when you earn the same. Tandem splits a couple's shared expenses in proportion to what each of you earns, and closes the month with a single number.
HOW IT WORKS
• Enter both incomes once: Tandem works out the ratio (60/40, say).
• Log each shared expense — rent, groceries, dinner out — with who paid. It is split by that ratio, 50/50 or paid in full, as you prefer.
• The ratio is saved with each expense: a raise never reopens months already settled.
SETTLE UP
• Who paid what, who owes whom, and the transfer that squares it, with the math in the open.
• Mark it settled. Undo it if you were too quick.
• Recurring expenses that log themselves every month.
TANDEM PRO — ONE PURCHASE, FOR GOOD
Tandem is free, and the whole loop is free: the two of you, unlimited expenses, the dashboard, settling up and undoing it, every month, proportional and 50/50. Tandem Pro is a single purchase — no subscription, shared with your family — and adds:
• Reports: the monthly trend, the split by category and the insight of the month.
• Custom split: any share you agree on, per expense.
• Reminders: a weekly nudge to log, and one at month end to settle up.
• Widgets: who owes whom, on the Home and Lock Screens.
• Export to CSV: every expense and settlement, ready for a spreadsheet.
• Colour themes: Cobalt, Tide and Slate, each for day and night, each with one colour for each of you. Terracotta & sage stays free.
Try it free for 30 days first, once per Apple ID. Nothing is charged: when the month ends the Pro features close again, and whatever you created with them stays yours.
PRIVATE
One phone keeps the books for both of you. No account, no analytics, no ads: your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud.
There is also an optional tip jar. It unlocks nothing.
