Paperingo is a writing assistant for academic work — a term paper, a thesis, a dissertation, an article. You write; it works beside you: it structures the document, drafts and revises passages with you from your notes and your sources, finds real works to cite, checks every quotation against its source, counts the length the way your course counts it, and sets it all as a real document — footnotes, figures, a bibliography in your citation style.
A source enters by its DOI, from a search of the open literature, or as an entry you type from the book in front of you. Paperingo can only cite from that list, so a citation to a work that does not exist cannot be printed. When a source's text is on file, a quotation is read against it; one that is not there is caught before you are.
Before you see "done", the checks run:
• It is set — every write goes through the typesetter, and a missing figure or a citation to nothing is refused where it happens
• It is honest — quotations are read against the source, the length is counted in the unit your course counts, the pages against the target
• It is read back — the text is pulled out of the PDF in order, the way a reviewer's tools read it
A thesis is a place you move around in: the outline with every heading and its page, the page itself, and the conversation beside it. Select a sentence, tap a figure or a table, and ask about it. Open any file and change it yourself; every version is kept. Bring the project you already have — Typst files, figures and a bibliography — and keep working where you left off.
