TrailOS Field Notes
Outdoor journal & trip reports
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Capture hikes, climbs, paddles, & your other favorite outdoor activities offline, then turn them into shareable WildLog trip reports. Off grid, but never off the record.
TrailOS Field Notes is the offline-first way to capture your hikes, climbs, and paddles the moment they happen, even when you're miles from a signal.
Off grid, but never off the record.
Take photos, log your activity type, and jot quick notes deep in the backcountry with zero connectivity. Field Notes holds everything on your phone and syncs automatically the moment you're back in range, so nothing gets lost between the trailhead and home.
When you're ready, turn a field note into a permanent WildLog entry with one tap. TrailOS forges your raw notes and photos into a shareable trip report, complete with the details you captured along the way.
Field Notes is the mobile capture companion to WildLog, TrailOS's outdoor adventure journal. Your account, gear, and trip history stay in sync across mobile and web.
What you can do:
Capture unlimited field notes, fully offline, with no signal required
Attach photos straight from your camera or library
Log activity type and quick notes as you go
Automatic sync the moment you reconnect
Promote your favorite outings into full WildLog trip reports
Sign in with Apple, Google, or email, one account across TrailOS
Field Notes is free to capture, with no limit on offline note-taking. Every account also includes 5 free WildLog trip reports, with more available if you need them.
Built for hikers, climbers, paddlers, and backcountry explorers who want a real record of where they've been, even where there's no signal to prove it.
