Every shot comes back at your screen's real pixel size — no re-scaling, no watermark, no nagging. Annotate it, pin it on top, or read its text offline.
Sharpshot takes screenshots that come back exactly as they are.
WHAT IT DOES
• Capture an area, a window, or a whole display — with a global shortcut.
• The size and the magnifier are on screen while you drag, so you can line up to the pixel. Arrow keys nudge by 1 px.
• Every shot is saved at your screen's real pixel size. Nothing is re-scaled, nothing is compressed behind your back, and nothing is stamped on it.
• Annotate right after: arrow, rectangle, ellipse, freehand, text, highlight, mosaic, numbered steps, crop. Undo and redo. Pick any colour.
• Pin a shot on top of everything, at any size and opacity, while you work from it.
• Read the text in any shot — Chinese and English — and get it on the clipboard. QR codes and barcodes too.
• Pick a colour out of the magnifier in HEX, RGB, SwiftUI or NSColor.
• Drag the shot straight into Finder, Mail or a chat window. The file is only written when the other side takes it.
• Save as PNG, JPEG or PDF. Copy and save can each be turned off.
WHY IT ASKS FOR SCREEN RECORDING
macOS puts screenshots behind the "Screen Recording" permission — there is no separate one. Sharpshot reads one frame at the moment you press the shortcut, and only then. It never records in the background, and nothing ever leaves your Mac.
WHERE YOUR SHOTS GO
Not the Desktop. Sharpshot saves to ~/Pictures/Sharpshot/ by default, so your Desktop stays clean. You can point it at any folder in Settings.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
• It never asks you to rate it.
• It never advertises other apps.
• It has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics.
• It doesn't go online. There is no network permission in the app at all — text recognition runs on your Mac.
WHY THERE IS NO FREE VERSION
A free version has to hold something back — quality, a watermark, a feature behind a paywall. That is the thing this app exists to avoid. You pay once and everything is there, including every update to version 1.
Chinese and English are both first-class: the whole interface, not just a menu.
