Owl for your desktop

Mac

A desk owl in the menu bar. One sentence about the next event or the clock, a Pomodoro, a note. Click the owl for the ring. No account, no network, no subscription. Bubo is an owl on your Mac. No chat. No assistant. One sentence about the next calendar event, the clock or the kind of thing on the clipboard — and sometimes a joke. One game: Peek. The app lives in the menu bar. There is no Dock icon and no main window. Drag the owl, click for the action ring, double-click to hoot. HOW YOU USE IT • Click the menu bar icon to show Bubo • Put the owl on the desk • Click the owl — the ring opens (note, timer, a line, Peek) • Drag to move, double-click to hoot • First launch asks for calendar, Mail, browser and notifications one after another. Every step can be skipped. WHAT BUBO DOES • Next event — title and time, if you allow the calendar • Pomodoro — 25/5, 15/5 or 50/10. The owl counts and nags if you surf during work • Notes — pin a line, drop a text file, optional reminder • One sentence — on-device, never a chat • Peek — hide at the edge, find her, the chalkboard keeps times MAIL AND BROWSER ARE OPTIONAL Unread mail is a count, never a subject. The front tab is a domain, never the page. If you skip those permissions, Bubo still sits there. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR MAC No account. No subscription. No server. No tracking. Bubo has no network entitlement — it cannot send anything anywhere. Notes and settings live in the app container. PRICE A one-time purchase. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no account. Requires macOS 14 or later.
