Podsnap is a full podcast player that transcribes episodes and marks their segments — sponsor reads, intros and cross-promos — so you decide what you hear. Let Podsnap skip sponsor reads for you, or skip any marked segment with one tap. Every episode streams in full from the publisher, and nothing is skipped that you didn't choose to skip. Segments are found automatically from each episode's transcript. You can mark segments yourself, and your marks help everyone who plays that episode. A full podcast player: • Subscriptions, smart and manual playlists, starred episodes • Streaming and downloads, with auto-download rules • Notifications when your shows post new episodes • Show notes right in the episode lists • A timeline with the detected segments drawn on it • Full transcripts that follow playback, with search; hold a line to report a segment that was missed or skipped by mistake • Listening stats, including the time you saved • Sleep timer (presets, end of episode, or any number of minutes), playback speed, Up Next, and a short rewind when you resume • Light, Warm, Dark and OLED themes, or follow your device • Made for iPad too: a navigation rail, and the transcript beside the player • Discover charts and search Honest by design: when Podsnap isn't sure a transcript matches your exact copy of an episode (ads rotate!), it says so instead of skipping blind, and offers to process your copy. Podsnap Plus: segment skipping is free for 30 episodes in total, with no sign-in needed. Episodes the app downloads and prepares in the background count toward the 30, even if you don't play them. After that, segment skipping is free for one new episode per rolling 24 hours: the first new episode you play. Podsnap Plus costs $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year and includes segment skipping for up to 2,000 new episodes a month under fair use. Episodes already prepared for you keep their skips. Without Plus, Podsnap stays a full podcast player. The Creator Fund: while you're a paying Plus member, Podsnap contributes ¼¢ for every ad it skips for you to an independent-audio nonprofit you pick: AIR (Association of Independents in Radio), PRX, Transom or The Moth. Podsnap pays it, up to $1 a month per member, in quarterly donations. It's included in Plus at no extra charge, and the app never asks you to donate. Transcription runs on a private server operated by the developer. Subscribing requires sign-in with Google or Apple. Podsnap Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. • Ad skipping now works for shows in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. • Podsnap asks for notification permission only when you tap the bell on a show. • Captions are timed more closely to the audio, especially on Bluetooth. • Marking a line as an ad, or as not an ad, now applies instantly with no pop-ups. • Cleaner Transcript tab and a simpler episode menu. • Fixed a false "Stopped" message on transcripts that were complete.
