Compression happens on your device. Newly encoded JPEG files do not copy source metadata such as location data. Images already under the selected limit are not recompressed and remain unchanged.
If a transparent image exceeds the limit, you can leave it unprocessed or add a white background and create a JPEG.
Newly compressed images are standard SDR/sRGB JPEGs for broad compatibility. HDR photos are tone-mapped to SDR and may look less bright than the original in Photos.
KaruPic is designed to keep the workflow short while preserving as much visual quality as practical within your chosen size limit.
