Transcribe while you record. Summaries, translation and other processing happen on your device, so your meeting notes stay with you.
Kakitome is a text editor with recording and transcription built in. Record a meeting, turn it into text, tidy it up with AI if you like, and finish the document, all in one window.
Transcription, summaries and other processing generally take place on your device.
TRANSCRIBE WHILE YOU RECORD
Once recording starts, new transcribed text is appended every few seconds. Finished sentences can be corrected while you are still recording. When you stop, the rest is processed and finished.
You can also transcribe audio and video files such as wav, mp3, m4a, mp4 and mov.
CHOOSE HOW TO TRANSCRIBE
Use the speech recognition built into the OS, or download a transcription model from Settings, and pick whichever suits the recording.
Output can be plain prose, one sentence per line, or timestamped. With speaker separation turned on, a heading is added for each speaker.
REPLACEMENT DICTIONARY
Register the company names, product names and people's names that tend to be misheard, and they are replaced in one pass. Regular expressions are supported.
TIDY IT UP WITH AI
Presets cover translation, proofreading, summaries, meeting minutes, formal/casual style and Markdown cleanup. Results appear in a lower pane, so you can review them before choosing Replace, Insert or Append.
For AI processing, choose the AI features built into the OS, a model you download to your device, or an LLM server you set up yourself.
CALENDAR
The monthly calendar shows the events in your device's calendar. With Kakitome Pro, when an event overlaps the time you recorded, its title and attendees can be added to the top of the transcript and a short summary written to the event's notes. Calendar access is used only when you turn it on in Settings.

PRIVACY
Kakitome does not collect usage data or track you. It uses the network only to download models and to connect to an LLM server you set up yourself.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
- Kakitome now opens straight to a new document. Tap + at the top left for a new one; Documents, Rename and Share are in the "..." menu at the top right. Your writing is saved automatically.
- Redesigned the iPhone layout: a larger shortcut bar that starts with just "Record and transcribe", and the calendar now opens as a sheet.
- While recording, the record button turns into a Stop button with the elapsed time. The status bar and the AI result pane buttons are tidier.
- Minor fixes.
