Create archives and manage your files on your Mac. Daizip is a free archive utility for Apple Silicon Macs. Drag in files and folders to create ZIP or 7z archives, inspect their contents, check integrity, and extract them. All features are available without an account, ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Batch tasks Extract multiple archives into separate folders, or compress each selected folder into its own ZIP. See individual results and retry only failed tasks. Results are saved beside each source without overwriting existing files. Encryption and split archives Protect ZIP and 7z archives with AES-256 encryption. 7z also protects filenames. Create volumes with a chosen size in .zip.001 or .7z.001 format. Keep all parts in the same folder and open the first .001 file to browse and extract them. Edit while keeping the original Add, remove, or rename entries in ZIP and 7z archives, then save a new copy. The original is preserved. Copies of encrypted archives remain protected by the original password. Share filenames across platforms Standard ZIP archives work with Windows' built-in archive tools. Korean filenames are stored in Unicode NFC form to reduce separated consonants and vowels on Windows. Daizip checks Windows-incompatible names and case-insensitive name collisions before compression and excludes common Mac metadata such as .DS_Store and __MACOSX. Work directly from Finder Use Finder's Services menu to create ZIP files, extract multiple archives separately, compress folders separately, or start encrypted and split archive tasks. macOS may ask you to grant access to the destination folder. Local file processing Files are processed on your Mac. File contents and names are not uploaded to developer servers. English and Korean are included, with the system language selected by default. Change the app language immediately in Settings and save your compression level and CPU preference. Multicore use varies with archive format and file composition. Supported formats • Create: ZIP, 7z • Browse, test, and extract all: ZIP, 7z, RAR/RAR5, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, and TAR.GZ variants • Create and extract split archives: .zip.001, .7z.001 • Edit: non-split ZIP and 7z, saved as a new copy Before you begin • Requires an Apple Silicon (M-series) Mac and macOS 14 or later. • AES-encrypted ZIP and split archives may require a compatible archive app on the recipient's device. • ZIP passwords use ASCII letters, numbers, and symbols. Use 7z for Unicode passwords. • .z01 and split RAR, ALZ/EGG, selective extraction, symbolic links, and special files are not supported. • This is not a backup tool that preserves all Mac metadata. Each operation supports up to 100,000 entries and 100 GiB of source or extracted data. Temporary copies require additional free disk space. • Task lists and passwords are not retained after quitting.
