VesselSOS

Maritime SOS & MAYDAY helper

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

SOS is free, no account needed. Reporting hazards is free too: drifting logs, nets or rocks, in a few taps with a free account, on a map every boater can see. VesselSOS turns the phone already in your pocket into a maritime emergency tool. When the VHF is dead, the engine has failed or someone has gone over the side, you get your exact position, the rescue centre responsible for the water you are actually in, a MAYDAY script filled in with your details, and a one-tap call — in seconds, without searching. WORKS WHEN NOTHING ELSE DOES • Offline GPS position in the format rescue services use — no mobile data needed • Built-in directory of maritime rescue coordination centres (MRCC/JRCC) for the Baltic Sea and beyond • Rescue centre is chosen by where you are, not by which SIM card you carry — crossing into Finnish, Swedish or Latvian waters changes the number automatically • Calls and SMS use the normal phone network, so they work wherever your phone has signal • Send your position by SMS or as a one-hour position link MAYDAY WITHOUT THE PANIC • Ready-to-read MAYDAY script with your position already filled in; with Pro, also your vessel name, type and persons on board from your craft profile • One tap to call the right rescue centre or emergency number • Large controls and a high-contrast display designed for wet hands, spray and bright sun • Automatic day/night theme based on the actual position of the sun SOMEONE ASHORE KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE (PRO) • Start a trip and share a live tracking link with family or your club — they see your position, course and battery level in a normal web browser, no app needed • Return-time check: if you are late and do not answer "Are you OK?", your emergency contacts get an SMS with your live position • Trip history, friends at sea and hazard reports BUILT FOR SMALL CRAFT Sailing yachts, motorboats, RIBs, fishing boats, kayaks, SUP boards and jet skis — anyone who goes out on the water without a full professional bridge. VesselSOS was built after a real offshore emergency in the Baltic, by people who sail these waters. WHAT IT IS NOT VesselSOS is not a replacement for a VHF radio, an EPIRB, a PLB or a life jacket, and it cannot call anyone without mobile network coverage. It is the backup that you always have with you, and the fastest way to give a rescue centre the information they need. VESSELSOS PRO (OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION) The SOS screen is free and needs no account: your position, the one-tap call to the responsible rescue centre, the call script, the MAYDAY text and sending your position by SMS. A distress call is never behind a paywall. Pro needs an account (your phone number and an SMS code) and adds your craft profile and contacts, live tracking during a trip, the return-time check with automatic SMS to your contacts, trip history, friends at sea and hazard reports. • Pro Monthly or Pro Yearly, auto-renewing, with a 14-day free trial for first-time subscribers (one trial per Apple Account) • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. PRIVACY Your position is transmitted only when you send an alert, make a call or start live tracking. There are no advertising or tracking SDKs in the app. Full policy at vesselsos.com/privacy.
