Ready Set Boom: Party Games
Charades, dares and 14 more
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Sixteen party games, from charades and dares to humming, impressions and animal noises. Three are free and the rest are one-off purchases.
Ready Set Boom is a pass-the-phone party game for friends and family. Each player gets a card and a countdown, the rest of the room guesses, and running out of time sets off the BOOM.
Sixteen games come in the app, from charades and dares to humming, impressions and animal noises. Dares, Charades and Little ones are free, and the other thirteen are one-off purchases with no subscription.
How to play
1. Add everyone by typing their names, separated by commas.
2. Pick a game, then set how long a turn lasts and how many rounds you want.
3. Pass the phone when it tells you to. Whoever is holding it gets a card and a countdown.
4. Finish before the time runs out, or it goes BOOM and the room sees the card you missed.
5. Whoever has the most points takes the podium.
The games
- Dares, quick challenges for the whole room. Free.
- Charades, songs, shows, animals and everyday actions to mime. Free.
- Little ones, charades a four year old can do. Free.
- Truths, a question to answer out loud with no dodging.
- Hum it, three decks of songs to hum with no words, oldies, 80s-90s and 2000s.
- Talk around it, describe a word without using any of the words listed under it.
- Quickfire five, five answers before the timer beats you.
- Famous faces, describe someone without saying their name.
- Impressions, do the voice until the room says you've nailed it.
- Classic films and Children's films, charades for the ones everybody has seen.
- Festive, carols, mimes and dares for December.
- Spooky season, spooky songs, mimes and dares for Halloween.
- Animal kingdom, be the animal while the room guesses. Noises allowed, words not.
- Shuffle, pick two of your games and it deals evenly from both, or lets each player choose which one their card comes from. Free.
Every game says how hard it is, Simple, Everyone or Trickier, and you can filter the library and the store by it.
It:
- Adds players as you type their names, separated by commas.
- Teams people up when you drag one name onto another.
- Saves the group you play with, so next time you pick it instead of typing everyone back in.
- Sets the turn order by dragging names around, or with a dice roll-off where ties roll again.
- Scores two points for finishing a card and one for guessing someone else's.
- Ranks everyone on a podium by points, then fewest skips, then quickest time.
- Sounds every beat of the game, with a mute button on the home screen.
Dragging to reorder the turn order needs iOS 27. Everything else works on any iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
