Solve five- and six-letter word puzzles with clear reasoning, not guesswork. Enter the word you guessed, tap each tile to match the colours your puzzle showed, and Guess Grid instantly narrows thousands of possible answers down to the few that still fit. It works with any five- or six-letter word puzzle you play elsewhere. FIVE OR SIX LETTERS Switch between the two at the top of the screen. Each length keeps its own puzzle, so you can move between them without losing your place. HOW IT WORKS • Type your guess on the built-in keyboard • Tap each tile until it matches your puzzle: red for a letter not in the word, amber for the right letter in the wrong place, green for the right letter in the right place • Submit, and see how many words remain and which guesses would narrow things down fastest PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No ads. No tracking. Nothing you enter leaves your device, and your practice totals stay on it too. SMART SUGGESTIONS Suggestions are ranked by how much each guess would tell you. Some are labelled "Possible answer" — they could win outright. Others are labelled "Narrows it down" — they can't be the answer, but they rule out more possibilities than guessing blindly. A KEYBOARD THAT THINKS The keyboard shows what you know and what you don't. Confirmed letters keep their colours, ruled-out letters fade, and every letter still in doubt shows the percentage of remaining words that use it. The stronger the blue, the more a guess using that letter will tell you. A HINT, NOT THE ANSWER Prefer to work it out yourself? Hide the suggestions with one tap and keep just the word count and the letter percentages. PRACTICE COACH Want to get better at solving, not just get the answer? Tap the mortarboard and Guess Grid picks a word for you to find in six guesses, five or six letters. Hints stay off unless you turn them on: the heatmap keyboard, the suggestions, or both. When the game ends, each guess is set beside the one the solver would have played. See which of yours were the best available, how the rest ranked against every word you could have chosen, and, where a better guess existed, why: how each word would have sorted the possible answers, and why the better split narrows things down further. Running totals put your average beside the solver's on the same words, with a chart of how many guesses your solves take. One tap copies a game's results to share. Your first three practice games are free. After that, Practice Coach is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited practice. No subscription. HANDLES THE TRICKY CASES Double letters are handled correctly, so a word with two E's gives the right answer every time. If your clues don't fit any word — usually a mis-tagged tile — one tap on Undo brings your last guess back to fix. LOOK UP ANY GUESS Tap Define to see the meaning of your last guess in your iPhone's built-in dictionary. Guess Grid is an independent tool for solving five- and six-letter word puzzles.
