Saturday's plan, sorted. Three recipes free, no timer on them, and a grown-up always does the oven. New: Fridge Bakery — bakes with no oven at all.
Bake Along teaches a 7-to-10-year-old to bake something real — then gets out of the way while they do it.
One step on the screen at a time, in words a child can read, with the number big enough to see from across the counter. No pretend cupcakes. No tapping a screen to "decorate" a cake that doesn't exist. At the end there is a tray of actual biscuits and a child who made them.
A GROWN-UP DOES THE OVEN
Every step is marked. Green steps are the child's. Amber steps are easier with four hands. Red steps — the oven, anything sharp, the stove — stop and wait for you, and your child cannot tap past them. Each recipe says on its card how many times you'll be needed, before anyone gets flour out.
WHAT'S IN IT
• 40 recipes, from no-bake oat bites to a birthday layer cake
• 3 of them free forever, with no time limit and nothing switched off
• 8 baking worlds that open as your child learns, not as they pay
• 16 skill missions — two minutes at the counter, no baking, no cleanup: level a cup, crack an egg, tell soft butter from melted
• Every step read aloud, so a child with buttery hands never has to touch the screen
• Science cards at the moment the thing is happening in the bowl, and fraction questions where the fractions actually are
FRIDGE BAKERY
One whole world with no oven in it. Bark, no-bake cheesecake cups, rocky road — the bakes a child can finish on their own on a wet Tuesday.
WORLD BAKERY
Ladoo from India, ghriba from Morocco, Anzac biscuits from Australia and New Zealand, cantucci from Tuscany, conchas from Mexico. Each one says where it's from and why it's that shape.
THE BAKERY WINDOW
Decorate a cake, a cookie or a cupcake on screen — frosting, sprinkles, candles — and keep it. It earns no points and it's free for everyone. It's the half of the app that doesn't need a kitchen.
A PASSPORT THAT'S THEIRS
Every finished bake gets a stamp: what they made, who they made it with, and a photo of their own tray. Two children in one house are two bakers, each with their own passport and their own allergy note.
ONE PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION
The Full Kitchen is a single purchase. No renewal, no ads, no account, no data collection. Family Sharing included. Cooking-kit subscriptions run $27.95 a month.
PRIVACY
There is no account and no sign-in. Names, photos and progress stay on the device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no analytics SDK in the app.
ALLERGIES
We never label a recipe safe. Allergens are flagged on every ingredient so you can see them, and the note you write is pinned to the top of every list — but ingredients and factory practices change, and only you know what's safe for your child. Always read the labels yourself.
Bake Along is for ages 7 to 10, and for the grown-up who's in the kitchen with them.
