Nestling Mahjong Solitaire is calm, classic tile matching with thirteen boards to explore, a nest that grows as you play, and a way back whenever a board goes wrong. THIRTEEN BOARDS, EACH ONE A BIRD Start with the Hatchling, a gentle 24-tile board that teaches the free-tile rule as you play and cannot be lost. Then choose your next board from a picture of each one: Wren (Butterfly), Fledgling (Square), Robin (Pyramid), Songbird (Garden), Swallow (Cross), Dove (Heart), Heron (the classic Turtle), Crane (the tall Pagoda), Owl (Fortress), Falcon (Plateau), Hawk (Spider) and Eagle (Mountain). They are ordered by how hard they really are, measured with the game's own solver - a big board is not always a hard one. EVERY BOARD CAN BE CLEARED Before a board is ever dealt to you, the game has already cleared it once. When you get stuck it is a puzzle to work out, never a dead end you were handed. REWIND TO SAFETY After each move the same solver checks whether your board can still be cleared. If it can't, a small nest beside the clock turns amber; tap it and the game goes back to the last move from which you could still clear the table. Hint asks the same solver for a move. LEARN THE TILES Hold any tile to see its name: 7 Characters, with its Chinese characters and pinyin, 七萬 qī wàn. The Tile guide in the menu lays out every face by suit: characters, bamboo, circles, winds, dragons, flowers and seasons. A NEST THAT GROWS Every board you clear adds a feather in its bird's colour to your nest. Clear one with no hints, no undos and no shuffles for a flawless medal. Moss, speckled eggs, plum blossom, a red ribbon and a golden feather are earned by play, and you choose which to show. None of it is for sale. CHALLENGE A FRIEND ON THE SAME BOARD Every board has its own short code. Clear it, tap Share a challenge, and your friend gets a link that opens the game on exactly the board you played, so you can compare times. A code pasted from a message works too: Menu, Deal codes. A NEW GAME OF THE DAY A fresh board every day, the same for every player, with a streak for the days in a row you clear it and an optional reminder when the new one is ready. Hold your phone upright for the tall Pagoda, or turn it sideways for the Turtle. COMFORTABLE TO PLAY Large, clear tiles on iPhone and iPad, upright or sideways. Pinch to zoom, shade blocked tiles so the free ones stand out, and pick Classic tiles or an easy-read set with numbers and pictures. Undo as much as you like, and shuffle when you are stuck - the new arrangement can still be cleared. Clear the table and the tiles leap out and tumble into a pile. No sign-in and nothing to grind. After your first ten boards a short ad may play between boards - never during one, never on the Game of the Day - and one purchase, Remove Ads, switches them off for good. Anonymous usage counts are only sent if you say yes. Made by Nestling Studios, a small independent studio.
