Taxi Meter measures distance and waiting time with GPS and runs the fare up live, exactly the way a Japanese taxi meter does. OFFICIAL FARES, UPDATED FOR 2025–2026 21 regions of Japan: Tokyo's 23 wards, Musashino and Mitaka (revised 20 April 2026), Tama, Yokohama and Kawasaki, Sagami and Kamakura, Chiba, Saitama, Gunma, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji, Nara, Otsu, Wakayama, Nagoya, Sapporo and Otaru, Sendai, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. Each preset is the upper-limit standard-car fare published by the regional transport bureau, shown with its date. CALCULATED LIKE A REAL METER • Initial fare plus steps by distance • At 10 km/h or slower, time replaces distance • Night surcharge from 22:00 to 5:00 (20%, by shortening distances) • Expressway mode without the time rule • Pickup fee and tolls ONE TAP PER STEP Vacant, pickup, hired, pay. A bar shows how far until the next increment, and the payment screen shares your result as a picture. ESTIMATE WITHOUT DRIVING Enter a distance and waiting time and get the fare for any region instantly. KEEPS MEASURING WITH THE SCREEN LOCKED During a ride the screen can stay on, and distance keeps counting in the background. If the app is closed mid-ride, it resumes when you open it again. METER PRO (ONE PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION) • Ride log with monthly totals and CSV export • Your own fares for any company, city or country • Green, amber and blue meter colours PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no analytics. Your location is processed on the device and never leaves it. Routes are not saved: the ride log keeps only distance, time and fare. PLEASE NOTE Fares are estimates from GPS and can differ from the real fare. This is not a certified taxi meter and must not be used to charge passengers. Do not use the phone while driving.
