Ricochet Run: Brick Bounce

One-tap brick breaker + perks

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Ricochet Run is a one-tap brick breaker with a roguelike twist. Drag from the launcher to aim, let go, and a stream of balls flies off at that angle. They bounce off the walls and off numbered bricks; every hit takes one point off a brick, and a good angle keeps a ball rattling around the board for a long time. When the last ball comes home, the bricks drop a row and a new row appears at the top. If a brick reaches the floor, the run is over. Tap once to start another. Every five turns you pick one of three perks, and the perks change how the run plays. A perk lasts twelve turns; pick one again to keep it. Nothing stacks, so every choice is a trade rather than a pile. Splitter makes every third ball split in two on its first hit. Piercer sends the first ball of each turn straight through bricks. Heavy Hitter doubles the first hit of every ball. Magnet pulls in extra-ball tokens from two bricks away. Wide Aim opens up flatter shots. Wrecking Ball destroys a brick outright on every tenth hit. Slow Season halves how often the rows descend. Harvest just hands you three more balls. A run built on Splitter and Piercer feels nothing like one built on Magnet and Wide Aim, and the loadout keeps turning over as perks fade. Not every brick is plain. Gold bricks are worth five times the points. Bomb bricks blast their neighbours when they go, and the blasts chain. Steel bricks take one point per hit no matter what you throw at them. Rubber bricks send a ball off at an angle of their own choosing. They arrive as the run goes on. Extra balls are earned, not given. Tokens appear in some rows, sit in the emptiest column, and you can only collect one per turn, so reaching them costs a shot you might have spent elsewhere. That trade is the game. Every point you ever score builds a rank, from Paper up to Legend, shown on the title screen. Ten badges track the things worth doing: clear five rows in a game, keep a row falling four turns running, touch thirty-two bricks with one shot. Five of them hand over a perk the first time you earn them, so the pool you draw from grows as you play; the other five are there for the wall. Game Center keeps daily, weekly and all-time leaderboards, and every badge and rank is an achievement. Score counts each brick by the turn you cleared it on, so late clears are worth more. Emptying a row pays a bonus, two rows in one shot pays double, and clearing the whole board pays big. Your best score and best turn are always on screen, and passing your best is celebrated on the spot. Daily mode plays a board seeded from the date, the same for everyone, with its own best per day and unlimited attempts. The Share button copies a one-line summary with your seed so a friend can play the same board. The look is paper: cream card, heavy ink outlines, bricks that tilt when hit and tear into scraps when they break, a jagged rip when a whole row goes. Ten brick palettes come with the game. Six are yours from the start; four with their own sparkle, glint, glow or stars unlock as your best turn and score climb. An editor lets you paint your own from a grid of paper colours, and the numerals switch between ink and cream on their own so any combination stays readable. Sound is a small set of hand-made clicks, pops and chimes whose pitch climbs with your combo. Haptics follow every hit, clear and row. Both can be switched off, and a Reduce Motion setting removes the screen shake, hit-stop, slow-motion and card tilt while keeping the paper scraps. Ad-supported: up to three optional rescue ads when a run ends, each one saving less than the last, and an occasional ad between runs. No purchases, no accounts. Your scores and settings stay on your phone. Three difficulty levels change how crowded the rows are, from Relaxed to Hard, with the score scaled to match; the daily board always plays Normal. Runs last a minute or three. Portrait only, built for one thumb. (About 480 words.)

Rubber bricks join gold, bomb and steel: a ball bouncing off one leaves at an angle of its own choosing. Game Center leaderboards and achievements now work on the App Store build (they had only been live for testers).
