El Haj Brahim's dama: • The action bar (quit, score, speed, help) moves to the bottom of the screen, away from the banner. • Three speeds for El Haj: slow, normal, fast. • When several captures are possible, you choose which one to play. • New leaderboard "They stood up to him": the best defeats against El Haj. Polish for El Haj Brahim's dama: • His intro cinematic now also plays after an update, whatever your room: it takes you to the café for the scene. • The players at your table wait for the cinematic to end before talking. • A capture of three pieces or more now plays as a close-up cinematic.

New: Moroccan dama with El Haj Brahim! From any room, his button teleports you to his table at the back of the café (or use the Dama card in the menu): challenge him with the real Moroccan dama rules, caps and huff included. Beat him and win 50 flouss. He speaks Darija, sets traps for you ("hak koul koul") and slams the caps on the wood. Also: a free camera around his table, and a new ronda dealt as soon as you're back at the café.

Fairer: when an opponent has a ronda or a tringa, their cards no longer move and their value is no longer shown. The private message icon now stays put next to the name.

New: table chat in online games. Send a short line to the whole table: it pops up in an animated speech bubble. Emojis included. In 4-player games, you can also message an opponent privately by tapping the icon next to their name. Messages disappear on their own when the match ends, and rude words are blocked. You can turn the chat off in the game menu, and report or block any player. Fairer: an opponent's ronda or tringa no longer reveals their cards.

A faster, safer start on every iPhone: the loading screen always shows and no longer freezes, even on first launch. Nicknames: rude names now show up as funny ones.

New: play side by side, no Internet needed. One phone hosts a local table, the others join on the same Wi-Fi or its hotspot. The game opens faster and always shows its loading, on every phone and tablet. The masters' mention: online, the best players wear a star, from stone to gold with a blue diamond. New tea glasses in the store. Smarter Auto graphics: smooth on modest devices, sharp on the others.

New: eight rooms. The café, the terrace and the salon are free; five more open in the store with your online wins: the riad, the blue town, Mogador harbour, the khaima, and a picnic by the Bouregreg. Rooms follow your phone's clock: day, sunset, night. Café mode: the score follows a call right away, and new voices for bluffs. Fast speed by default. Delete your account from “My account”.

Notifications finally arrive! • When a player opens a table and waits for you, or a friend shares their table code, you're notified — even with the app closed. • Remember to allow notifications when the game asks (or in the menu: Notifications). • New: free camera — pinch to zoom, drag to turn around the table. Opponents hide their cards… and let you know! • Player names follow the camera. • The game also speaks Spanish: menus, rules, voices and names — pick it in the menu (Language); automatic on a phone set to Spanish. • A tidier table: the deck sits in your corner and nothing passes through anything any more. In two-player games, your opponent’s glass stands by his free hand.

• Opponents now hold their cards in hand, like at the café: one hand holds the fan, the other draws the card to play. • New Effects button: 5 card styles (no effect, worn card, old paper, vivid colors, glossy varnish). • A switch under the effects button turns the lantern above the table off or on.

• New in the menu: Hez Jouj, our other Moroccan café card game (hez 2), free. One tap on its card opens its store page.

• Cards now land cleanly on the table: no more flicker the moment they touch down.

Finding an online match is simpler: the “Play the computer while you wait” button, which caused trouble on some phones, has been removed. To pass the time, start a game against the computer from the menu.
