Tapsody gives your Mac the sound of a mechanical keyboard.
Every keystroke plays a click that is synthesized on the spot from a handful of numbers. There are no audio recordings in the app, so it stays small, starts instantly, and never sounds like a loop repeating.
TWO COLLECTIONS
Switch Types: seven generic switch characters, from a deep muted Thock to a sharp Clicky, a smooth Linear, a lubed Cream, an old Typewriter and a quiet Membrane.
Real Keyboards: ten whole-keyboard imitations, each voiced from measurements of a real build. Thocky, Deep Thock, Marbly, Silent, Poppy, Clicky, Bubble Wrap, Clacky, Creamy and a thin Office board. They keep their measured loudness, so Silent really is quiet and Clacky really is not.
IT BEHAVES LIKE A REAL BOARD
The space bar rings low and long. Enter and Backspace sit lower than letters. Function keys are short and thin.
Keys on the left of the keyboard sound from the left, keys on the right from the right. Stereo width is adjustable, down to mono.
Every press gets a slight random pitch and level, so repeated keys never machine-gun.
Key-up clicks too, because a real switch clicks twice.
TUNE IT
Drag the tone pad for brightness and body, or use the pitch and decay sliders. One tap returns to the preset.
IT STAYS OUT OF THE WAY
Sleep for fifteen minutes to two hours, or until you wake it.
Mute chosen apps, which is handy for games and remote desktops.
Typing statistics: keys today, keys per minute, and an optional count in the menu bar.
Launch at login. It lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon.
PRIVACY
Tapsody asks for the Input Monitoring permission so it can tell when a key goes down and comes back up. It reads the key code and nothing else. No text is stored, nothing is sent anywhere, there is no account and no network access, and macOS itself withholds anything typed into a password field.

The tone pad is tidier: its knob now rests inside the pad, even at the far edges, instead of hanging half over them. Everything else works as before.
