How many days will your supply last? Notvorrat converts the official German recommendation to your household and reminds you before food expires. No account, no server.
Germany's Federal Office of Civil Protection recommends a ten-day supply. What that means for a household with two adults and two children is written down nowhere. Notvorrat works it out, keeps track of your stock and gets in touch before anything expires.
COVERAGE, ALWAYS IN VIEW
One number answers the real question: how long will my supply last? The weakest group is always the limit, and the app names it – 200 kg of pasta without water is zero days.
BUILT FOR SHOPPING IN GERMANY
The figures come from the official German recommendation – this app is for people who live and shop here, including those who moved to Germany and would rather use it in English. Quantities stay in kilograms and litres, and the receipt scanner reads German receipts.
LOG YOUR SUPPLY IN SECONDS
Nobody enjoys typing in 30 items. Photograph your receipt and Apple Intelligence turns it into suggestions with group, quantity and pack size. A shelf photo captures what is already in the cellar; single packs work by photo, barcode or date scan. You check every suggestion before it is saved.
Receipt, shelf photo and photo recognition need iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence. The first two are analysed by Apple in Private Cloud Compute after your consent; from a receipt only item lines without prices are sent.
WORKED OUT FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD
Adults, children by age group, older people, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and pets. Children count proportionally by energy requirement; drinking water stays at 2 litres per person per day, whatever the age.
A REMINDER BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE
Every item gets its date – best before or a hard use-by date, because those are not the same thing. The app reminds you in good time, shows what is due on the app icon and repeats expired items daily until dealt with. All scheduled locally, no server, no network.
PREPAREDNESS BEYOND FOOD
Around 70 entries across six checklists: medicine cabinet, hygiene, power and light, documents, emergency bag and safety at home. Medicines, batteries and the fire extinguisher check carry their own expiry date and are reminded too. The lists adapt: generators only for a house.
ROTATION, NOT A BUNKER
Anything you use up goes onto the shopping list if you want, together with the gap between requirement and stock. For the supermarket it moves into the Reminders app – shareable with the family.
NO ACCOUNT, NO DATA COLLECTION
No registration, no advertising, no tracking, no server of our own. Your data stays on your device; if you want, it syncs through your private iCloud. Barcode scanner, date scan and photo recognition work entirely on the device – the only exceptions are receipts and shelf photos.
MORE FEATURES
• A short emergency guide, available without a network
• Export and restore a backup – always free
• A preparedness period from 3 to 28 days
• Dark mode, large text and VoiceOver
NOTVORRAT PRO
Everything that matters for safety is free: the requirement calculation, stock with expiry dates, reminders and the app icon badge, all checklists and backups. A one-off purchase – no subscription – unlocks convenience: barcode and date scanner, receipts, shelf photos and photo recognition without a limit (without Pro: one receipt, one shelf photo, five photo captures), iCloud sync, the widget, several reminder lead times at a time you choose, the vegetarian and vegan tables, and unlimited custom checklist entries.
PLEASE NOTE
Notvorrat is a private, independent app and is not connected to the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance, the German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food or any other authority. It reproduces their publicly available recommendations. The age-based scaling, the vegetarian and vegan variants and the quantities for pets are derived from them and marked in the app as not official. In an emergency, only the instructions of the responsible authorities apply. The app is no substitute for medical or nutritional advice.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Notvorrat now speaks English. The whole app is translated – the requirement calculation, all six checklists, reminders, the widget and the legal texts.
The figures do not change: the basis stays the official German recommendation, and quantities stay in kilograms and litres.
Receipt recognition and the date scanner still read German receipts and packaging.
Also fixed: on devices that sync their data via iCloud, checklist entries could appear twice. The app clears this up on the next launch – ticked entries, notes and expiry dates are kept.
